How Long Does It Take To Build A Log Cabin

This is a question with a range of possible answers. It's important to remember that every cabin is different, so there are many factors to be taken into consideration when undertaking your construction.

First, it would be a good idea to assess how much expertise you have at DIY. Building a log cabin might not be the best starter project for a complete novice! Also, consider the size and complexity of the cabin you have chosen and whether you're planning to build it on your own or with the help of family or friends. There's also one thing we can never rely on in this country - how the weather will behave! Rainy days could delay your build, so it's best to check the weather forecast and organise your construction to take place when the sun will hopefully be shining.

How many people do you need to build a log cabin?

If you've got the time and expertise, it is absolutely possible to undertake the build on your own. However, it will be fun having a friend to help, especially if they have some DIY skills and knowledge you can utilise. Having two people on hand to build the cabin is probably ideal, any more and your working area may become overcrowded.

So, how long will it take to build the log cabin?

You've enlisted a helpful friend with some DIY expertise, read all the instructions and the sun is shining - you're all set to get started! We estimate that if you work at a good pace (without stopping for too many tea breaks), a medium-sized cabin will take around two days to complete. However, this will be dependent on your DIY skills, whether you have organised all your materials and tools in advance and, of course, that the weather behaves itself. Any of these things could hold you up so organisation is key before you get started.

It may seem like a daunting task at first, but if you follow our comprehensive instructions and take it step by step, your log cabin will quickly take shape.

I'm not sure I have enough time!

If you're struggling to find the time to build your cabin or would like a turn-key service, you can always take advantage of our home installation service. Our professional team will ensure that your cabin is constructed to the highest standards and you can sit back, relax and watch the progress.

Remember, prior to commencing installation, you will need a flat-level base, either constructed by yourself or our team. For your base to be considered suitable, it must be absolutely level, flat and 100% solid. We estimate that it will take around two days to lay a suitable base. Failure to prepare your base correctly will mean that we cannot install your log cabin and will incur additional costs. Similarly, for a DIY installation, base preparation is essential before you commence construction.

Whichever route you choose, the end result will be a much-loved space and a significant lifestyle improvement.
